Jalmari Palosaari founded the farm 1925 when he built log cabin which is still in use. Jalmari's reindeer herd was lost during the second world war. After the war he has only two reindeer left. Those reindeer he passed to his brother. Reino,who is Jalmari's son, started farming year 1963. Year 1975 Reino earn reindeer back to the farm. Reino's daughter Satu received her first reindeer ear mark year 1982. The third generation is doing the reindee herding in the farm. Reino gave all his reindeer to the kids year 2009, after doing reindeer herding 36 years. Even Reino has retired, you can find him doing reindeer herding. Reindeer herding is still Reino's passion. Satu is keeping on traditional livelihood of reindeer herding after her father's footsteps.
